The Unexpected Birthday, Teachers Day and end of Term 3.

Wow, so that is a wrap for Term 3! I always say term 3 is the hardest and I will say it again. It was physically, mentally and emotionally the hardest term by far. But it ended with a very unexpected high.

I celebrated a big birthday in March. My class mom organised a very unexpected surprise belated birthday party for me on break-up day.  It was so unexpected, I had not one inkling that it was coming, that when the children surprised me, I burst into tears! But let me show you what they did.

The children and class mom arrived early to school, decorated my classroom with balloons, and piled up all my gifts on the standing tables. They each drew their hand outline on the white board and wrote their names. Some children wrote messages on cut out hands which were fantastic. When I arrived in my classroom they were all seated quietly with a drink and plate piled up with goodies and sang happy birthday to me.

I can honestly say it was the most unexpected but perfect surprise to end the term.

I am looking forward to this short break to focus a bit more on Classy Classrooms. I want to start a water colour range of boarders for the new year. Here is one I started with.

So teachers far and wide, enjoy this well deserved break. Take time for yourselves, reflect on the term, celebrate the wins and learn from the losses. Teachers day is this week and I hope it is a day that you are able to hold your head up high and be proud of what we do.

Have a wonderful week friends,

Love

Beth
